Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate will perform clerical support functions in the Amherst Center which include answer routine inquiries,handle phone calls, schedule patient appointments, and ancillary testing. The Clinical Center Associate will also enter data into the EMR, greet and check in patients, verify insurance information, manage co-pay collection, maintain and order supplies, manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and physician schedules. The Clinical Center Associate will work closely with the Amherst faculty to fulfill the needs of a busy clinical area while performing duties in a professional and friendly demeanor.
Applicants must possess a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D., completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related medical field, one year of full-time experience with scheduling and EMR systems, and knowledge of oncology terminology.
