Description of Duties:
The Clinic Liaison supports clinical activities of multiple GI Oncologists and Surgeons by providing scheduling support, scheduling OR cases and tracking consents, pre-op, and H&P to assure surgical readiness. The Clinic Liaison also follows up with patients to assure completion of tests/procedures and securing those results, providing support to patient flow during clinic days, and communicating with patients/families/providers as to appointments/status. They also assist with coordination of prior authorizations, obtains records from outside facilities, and supports and maintains open communication with physicians, oncology nurse coordinators, nursing staff, and patients.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support; or an Associate’s degree in a health related field and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of five years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support. The preferred candidate will have experience scheduling OR cases, experience in directly communicating with patients in a clinical setting, and will have a degree in a health related field. They will also be comfortable communicating/interacting/assisting patients and their families, as well as with the clinical providers who treat them, will have experience with scheduling appointments and procedures, and experience with Microsoft Outlook and managing multiple systems.
