Description of Duties:
The Cancer Registry Coordinator assists in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Cancer Registry Database; assists with the follow-up process; monitors obituary listing and updates the hospital system and the Cancer Registry Database; assures timely updating of information from letters/mail received; assists with database clean up; assists with major initiatives involving the Cancer Registry including preparation of American College of Surgeons (ACOS) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) surveys and data clean-up for quality initiative and audit purposes.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology; or an Associate’s degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time Cancer Registry experience; or an Associate’s degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in an RPCI healthcare setting with knowledge of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working in a hospital or health related facility; have strong working knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology as well as working knowledge of cancer registry functions.
