Description of Duties

Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Benefits Specialist. The Benefits Specialist serves as a Human Resources Benefits professional team member responsible for the delivery of human resources programs, policies, procedures, and services to both Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Health Research, Inc. Will be responsible for oversight of human resources duties within the Benefits section of the Human Resources Department; including employee benefit and leave administration. Accountable for data entry and the creation and maintenance of benefit information into HRIS system for RPCI and the State. investigates benefits questions and concerns; reviews benefits plans with new and existing employees; performs the listed duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring minimal supervision.
 

Qualifications

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in Human Resources or a related business experience; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in Human Resources or a related business experience. The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related degree; at least 3 years human resources and/or benefits experience; working knowledge of employee benefit plans, disability benefits, workers' compensation, and leave of absence including FMLA administration. The preferred candidate will have prior experience managing complex accrual and benefit programs preferred. Previous experience using Lawson and PeopleSoft systems is preferred. In addition, the candidate must have strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Candidate must have excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task. Prior experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced large (1,000 employee) organization. The preferred candidate will also have previous human resources experience.

 This is a grant-funded position.  Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
