Description of Duties:
The Benefits Administrator provides oversight of the Benefits section of the Human Resources Department, including employee benefit and leave administration. The Benefits Administrator is accountable for data entry and the creating and maintenance of benefit information to HRIS system for Roswell Park and the State, investigates benefits questions and concerns, and reviews benefits plans with new and existing employees. The Benefits Administrator performs the listed duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring minimal supervision.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in an appropriate Human Resources related field; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a Human Resources setting. The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, will have three years of human resources and/or benefits experience, and will have a working knowledge of employee benefit plans, disability benefits, workers' compensation, and leave of absence, including FMLA. They will also have prior experience managing complex accrual and benefit programs, previous experience using Lawson and PeopleSoft systems, and strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. They will have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to multi-task, and prior experience working a high-volume, fast-paced organization in a large (1,000+ employee) organization.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
