Associate General Counsel
The Associate General Counsel assists the Corporation's General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in handling a variety of legal matters at Roswell Park focused on health information privacy/security and research related matters. The Associate General Counsel provides guidance, policy drafting and prepares agreements related to HIPAA, privacy and data security. They also provide guidance on and lead organization's compliance with scientific ethics and research integrity rules and regulations and prepare, review and negotiate pre-clinical and clinical research related agreements, including clinical trial agreements, collaborative research agreements, material transfer and data use agreements.
Applicants must have a J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and admitted to practice law by the State of New York Bar. The preferred candidate will have five to ten years of full-time experience being responsible private practice or in-house legal experience dealing with healthcare provider legal issues with focus on health information privacy/security and/or clinical research related matters. They will also have hospital academic, or pharmaceutical experience.
