The Artist in Residence will assist in coordinating and implementing the Artists in Residence program at Roswell Park. The Artist in Residence will be responsible for delivering guidance and support to patients and families while they are in the process of making art. They will order supplies, ensuring that they are safe and non-toxic. The will also provide bedside and group activities for patients and families by engaging them with performing and visual arts. They will use the expressive arts to assist patient relaxation, confidence, and self-awareness. The Artist in Residence will assist in art-related wellness programming.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of three years working with cancer patients or those impacted cancer and a minimum of three years working in a hospital setting. They will also be proficient in performing arts, visual arts, or music. They will have the ability to engage patients and families in order to help them relax and will have basic computer skills for office tasks.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
