Description of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant II functions as a para-professional, assigned to support the broader range of activities and responsibilities typically accorded to Chairs, Chiefs and/or Assistant Vice Presidents; performs duties in support of other professional staff related to the function of their assigned department or departments. The Administrative Assistant II will perform complex administrative tasks, providing support for the Department Chair, as well as many of the routine duties and responsibilities generally required of administrative personnel. The Administrative Assistant II will assist the Chair with communication, meeting facilitation and coordination. Prepares departmental correspondence and assists Chair with Department and Committee responsibilities.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of five years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have experience providing administrative support to high level professionals, including administrative experience in a clinical and/or healthcare administrative environment. The preferred candidate will have experience with Microsoft Office. The preferred candidate will have the ability to work with a large group of team members from various disciplines (physicians, advanced practice providers and residents, medical physicists, radiation therapists, etc) in a highly team-based environment. The preferred candidate will have a high level of professionalism, effective written and verbal communication skills, be patient centered and customer service focused.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
