Administrative Assistant I
Provides administrative support to faculty member(s) in Urology Department. Duties span both academic and clinical activities of department faculty. Those duties include extensive use of Outlook to manage calendar of one or more faculty members. Also responsible for faculty travel arrangements & reimbursements, ongoing maintenance of clinical privileges, support to fellow(s) and their activities, as well as general academic support that includes grants/manuscripts/presentations, etc. Position also provides administrative support to overall department activities and events as an active member of the administrative team for the Department of Urology.
The applicant must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have at least one year of experience in providing administrative support to a faculty member and/or other similar professional (as opposed to clinical support experience), at least one year of experience using Outlook to manage the calendar of a faculty member and/or other similar professional and at least one year of experience - and comfort - using the following programs to support administrative work: Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel. They will also have at least one year of experience working with documents saved on a shared network server, to include accessing, saving, retrieving and organizing such files and at least one year of experience in a work environment where customer service skills are necessary to engage in positive encounters with customers or patients. They will demonstrate a positive outlook and a pattern of prompt action/responses, even with new problems or issues not encountered before, will be able to establish/build/maintain positive working relationships with all team members in Urology, as well as partners within Roswell and our local community, and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as integrity and professionalism are expected, along with knowledge & practice of proper office etiquette.
