Description of Duties

The Administrative Assistant I provides direct administrative support for the Chairman and Sr. Administrator within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Provides administrative support to departmental Faculty and Laboratory leadership. Responsible for the operation of the Pathology administrative office. Routine responsibilities include departmental data management and validation, internal and external correspondence, coordination with regulatory agencies, academic affiliations, and other Roswell Park departments. Responsible for the coordination and data recording of several organization committees and task forces. Provides administrative support for contract management, fiscal budget development/reporting, and personnel management activities.

Qualifications

The applicant must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills; possess the ability to work with a diverse population; be proficient in the use of the MS office suite including Excel, Work, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint; and have previous grant routing/management experience.
