Description of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant I provides direct administrative support for the Chief of Surgical Pathology within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support to Pathology and Laboratory faculty assigned to the division. The Administrative Assistant I's routine responsibilities include departmental data management and validation, internal and external correspondence, coordination with internal and external agencies, academic affiliations, and other Roswell Park departments; responsible for the coordination and data recording of the Institute level committees and task forces; and provides administrative support for departmental activities including time keeping, grant submission, and education activities.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have the ability to work with a diverse population, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The preferred candidate will have experience supporting executive level personnel, experience in grant submission/routing and experience in a customer service setting. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite is preferred.
