Description of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant I performs general operational and complex administrative duties of highly-confidential nature, as the lone administrative staff member supporting the academic, clinical, and administrative work of the Department Chair, Chief, and clinical faculty. The Administrative Assistant I manages all scheduling, travel/reimbursements, and all reports. They also manage all mail/communication, clinical privileges, and compliance activities for 5-6 faculty members.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have two or more years of experience in working with Outlook to manage the calendar/schedule of one or more faculty member(s) or busy professional(s), two or more years of experience working in support of clinical or research faculty in an academic setting, and one year or more of experience in scheduling of OR cases for surgeon(s). They will also have the ability to manage competing demands, yet maintain a high level of productivity and will have the ability to problem solve independently, with minimal direction at times.
