Description of Duties:
The Administrative Assistant I performs many of the routine duties and responsibilities generally required of administrators or director-level positions. Obtains and enters data to support various projects; compiles, sorts and verifies accuracy of data. Writes routine correspondence independently, often requiring technical knowledge of the articular function involved. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards. Prepares other written documentation as required by the profession and the department; maintains, distributes, analyzes and projects information for required records, reports and statistics as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time secretarial or related experience.
The preferred candidate will have experience in a research setting with personnel and administrative tasks, experience developing and maintains strong relationships with department personnel to organize meetings and seminars. The preferred candidate with also have knowledge and expertise to supervise and oversee administrative activities as a team leader.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
