Congratulations to the WNY Breast Resource Center at Roswell Park for 15 years of breast cancer education and support services! The Center was dedicated on February 1, 1997 and since then it has grown and evolved to become a free resource for anyone touched by breast cancer. The Center's programs include customized information for patients & families; multimedia resources; and support groups and community education programs. Last year, nearly 2,000 patients, families and friends visited the Breast Resource Center. Breast cancer patients on chemotherapy received more than 200 free wigs, and more than 200 certificates and gift bags were given out to acknowledge the end of their treatment.
Hear from Joanne Janicki, coordinator of the WNY Breast Resource Center, as she shares more about the services offered and the impact of this important cancer resource.
