About Anh Le

Biography:

I received both PhD and MS degrees in Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Southern California (USC) in 2007 and 2010, respectively. My BS in Computer Engineering was obtained from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2005. After my postdoctoral training in radiation oncology at the University of Florida (UF), Gainesville, FL, I worked as a clinical fellow at UPMC. In 2014, I moved to Dallas, TX, to become a research faculty member, and subsequently completed the medical physics residency training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. 

In the earlier years of my professional career, I had a chance to obtain a thorough knowledge in DICOM, IHE, as well as in database design, software and web-based application development and experience in information system integration, development of electronic patient record (ePR), and system implementation and support in the clinical environment. Since then, I have been a core member not only in many clinical projects in integrating systems, workflow improvement and commissioning at different clinical radiation oncology departments but also in many research grant initiatives in radiation oncology and informatics.


I joined Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in fall 2017, and I am an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at SUNY Buffalo. My career goals are three-fold: (1) to practice as a medical physicist in radiation therapy to treat cancer, (2) to develop a research program in oncology informatics for personalized medicine to promote patient outcomes and safety, and (3) to educate healthcare professionals through mentorship, teaching, and training.
