Participates in and performs assigned phases of scientific research projects in lab of physician scientist; organizes and analyzes laboratory research efforts; utilizes quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyze laboratory fluid and/or tissue samples; prepares, cleans, sterilizes and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware and instruments used in research experiments.
1.Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or 2.Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience. NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Cancer Institute as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have prior experience in basic molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, Western Blot, PCR and flow cytometry; at least one year of laboratory experience; ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions, ability to work independently and in a team environment; experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
