The Programmer/Analyst provides overall support and leadership to Health Research Inc., for its Information Management System and Information Technology needs and initiatives and provides oversight and stability for HRI Systems used at Roswell Park. This incumbent will act as lead in any system integration and system upgrade for existing systems; will be responsible for project planning, management, documentation and compliance; will leverage all current and future technologies for the optimal efficiencies for HRI department needs; serve as the liaison and advocate between the research community and HRI with HRI Information Management and RPCI IT; respond to concerns through a coordinated effort with the Information Technologies/Systems support team; work with vendors and programmers to develop solutions; and develops reporting.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in programming of mainframe or PC information systems as it relates to technology used at the Institute.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Cancer Institute as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have previous experience with system administration of IT system(s); ability to communicate and to define/design Functional specification for system/functionality and needs; experience with grants process & grants systems for reporting needs requirements.
