JoAnne McVey joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) initially in 1992 as a staff nurse on the BMT Unit. JoAnne was subsequently inspired by the professionalism of her nurse and physician colleagues to pursue her Masters Degree with her ultimate goal of practicing medical oncology as a Nurse Practitioner.
JoAnne earned her Masters degree from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York in 2002 and worked as a Nurse Practitioner for the Leukemia Service until 2008 at which time she was inspired by the nursing leadership to pursue an opportunity in management. This opportunity has allowed JoAnne to integrate nursing and medicine.
JoAnne is licensed by New York State as well as the Province of Ontario and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
JoAnne is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and Sigma Theta Tau.
