HEALTH CARE MINISTRY EDUCATION DAYS
The Department of Pastoral Care sponsors two health care ministries days for healthcare professionals and area clergy. These day-long conferences provide an opportunity for networking as well as insight into various topics that are pertinent to pastoral care ministries in an institution as well as in a community setting. These conferences are held at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the Fall and in the Spring.
Spring Conference – “Gathering the Pieces…How You Can Help Grieving Parents and Their Families”

This day will focus on how we, as health care providers and pastoral ministers, can give support to grieving parents who have lost a child and siblings who have lost a sister or a brother.

Fall Conference – "The Circles of Your Mind: The Ripple Effects of Grief and Loss"

Speaker – Dr. Bill Webster, Founder and Executive director of the Centre for the Grief Journey, Mississauga, Ontario.
Dr. Webster will explore how life changes through a death or a loss and how everything is affected and the whole world of the person is turned up side down. He will show how intervention involves helping them "re-write the script" that has seemingly been shattered by the loss.
