BUFFALO, N.Y. — Today, registration opened for IceCycle, Buffalo’s newest cycling fundraising event, presented by West Herr Automotive Group. The event will be held at Buffalo RiverWorks on Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20, 2021.

There are two ways to participate in IceCycle:

  • In-person at Buffalo Riverworks: Ride during a 45-minute session led by one of nine popular cycling studios.
  • At home on your bike: Live stream one or all of the classes at RiverWorks from home on your stationary bike.

“2020 changed a lot but one thing that remains unchanged is our commitment to supporting Roswell Park’s groundbreaking efforts in cancer care and research,” says Bill Loecher, vice president at West Herr Automotive Group. “Everyone in WNY has been touched by cancer in some way, and the work being done at Roswell Park is critical. West Herr is proud to continue our part in this important mission through IceCycle.”

“It’s always exciting when Buffalonians have an opportunity to make a collective impact on an important cause. And IceCycle is the perfect opportunity to bring the cycling community together in a unique way for one mission. It’s awesome to see all the studios coming together to help end cancer,” says Missy Fogarty, indoor cycling director at Jada Blitz Fitness.

Each of IceCycle’s 11 sessions will be led by some of Buffalo’s most popular cycling instructors and studios including BeMoved Fitness, BikeorBar, Cycle WNY, Dani-Fit, Garage Fitness Studio, Jada Blitz Fitness, Rebel Ride, Revolution Buffalo and Rise Fitness Studio. Registration is $25 with a fundraising commitment based on whether the rider chooses to participate in-person or at home. Riders can see the schedule and register at www.icecyclebuffalo.org.

The funds raised through IceCycle will support Roswell Park researchers in their investigation of new treatment options; facilitate clinical trials for both common and rare types of cancers; support the costs of important medical testing not covered by insurance; and make possible quality of life programs that assist with non-medical needs and help patients remember that cancer doesn’t define them.
