Michael Ryan, RT, PA

Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Mike began his career in radiology as an RT, Trocaire College, Buffalo, New York, 1991-1993, and joined the Roswell Park Cancer Institute Department of Radiology soon afterwards. He earned his PA at D’Youville College, Buffalo, New York, in 2003, and after that trained with Dr. Sadashiv Shenoy, a distinguished Roswell Interventional Radiologist, to become an Interventional Radiology PA.

Because Mr. Ryan is both an RT and a PA, he is authorized by NY State to fluoroscope unsupervised, while performing a variety of procedures: all venous access (Mediports, Hickmans, central venous lines, dialysis catheters, and picc lines), drainages (paracentesis, thoracentesis), placement of a variety of catheters (chest tubes, nephrostomy catheters, etc.), and procedures (nephrostomy, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography, etc.)

Mike is an invaluable asset to the department, and his dual RT/PA skills and experience make him virtually unique.
