Profile

Areas of Expertise:
Cellular elucidation of disease processes
Cytopathology
Gynecologic cytology (Pap smears)
Fine needle aspirations of superficial soft tissue lesions
Immunohistochemistry
Biomarker analysis
Biography:

My area of interest is in the detection of malignant cells in all body sites using light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and biomarker assays. Through collaborations with clinical teams interested in biomarker discovery, analysis of such markers in tissues and cells, particularly when it relates to patient treatment and clinical outcomes, is what our lab is most passionate about.

I am also passionate about riding my bike and getting others to do the same. I learned as an adult having grown from the Philippines where bicycle riding was not permitted among girls. Through the tutelage of an AML cancer survivor who coached me on my first fundraising ride with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team-n-training, I have since fundraised and rode with LLS, MS 150, Tour de Cure, and of course, the Ride for Roswell. I came to Roswell because this place gives me a great sense of purpose and pride.
