Donor Support Enables Palliative Care Programs to Expand

In an effort to offer additional support to patients facing end-of-life health issues, donations to Roswell Park have been allocated to provide a designated Nurse Practitioner to the Palliative Care team.

The Palliative Care team, led by Yashodhara K. Satchidanand MD., is dedicated to assisting Roswell Park’s most vulnerable patients in late stages of their disease. Additional members of the collaborative Palliative Care team of seven include social workers and nurses.

"Gifts to Roswell Park have made a meaningful difference to help us provide exceptional care to this part of our patient population,” said Oscar deLeon- Casasola, MD, Chief, Pain Medicine. “Through inpatient consultations, palliative care rounds, hospice referrals and patient and family education, our new nurse practitioner is improving the lives of those we serve every day.”
