Roswell Park Cancer Institute provides comprehensive, individualized gastro-intestinal cancer care for about 700 inpatient admissions and over 15,000 outpatient visits annually, including an influx of almost 1,000 new patients.

There are about 18,000 cases of colon, rectum, esophagus, stomach, liver, and pancreatic cancer diagnosed annually in New York State, with about 1,700 cases from the Western New York Region according to the New York State Tumor Registry. There are about 635 cases of esophagus cancer diagnosed annually in New York State, with about 110 cases from the Western New York Region according to the New York State Tumor Registry.

Our multi-disciplinary team includes an elite group of surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Roswell Park has 20 clinical research studies that are aggressively seeking answers to the most challenging new questions in the area of Gastrointestinal cancers each year.
