Ms. Owens RN MS OCN (Betty) joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 1977 as a Registered Nurse on the GYN Oncology Unit.
Betty earned her Bachelors of Science degree from D’Youville College, Buffalo New York in 1977 and her Masters of Science, as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology, from the State University of NY at Buffalo in 1989.
Betty is licensed by New York State and is certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation

Betty has authored or co-authored two journal publications, and presented over seven poster presentations at national meetings related to oncology nursing practice. She has also moderated and presented at multiple educational sessions for professional staff and volunteers.
Betty was a recipient of an American Cancer Society Scholarship for Graduate Nurses in Oncology in 1986 and 1987 and has been the recipient of several local and national awards including:
