The Kevin Guest House was the nation’s first hospital hospitality house providing comfort, care and support during a medical crisis.
Kevin Guest House was founded by Claudia and Cyril Garvey after their son, Kevin died of leukemia at the age of 13. Patients and family members from out of town who are being treated at Roswell Park stay at Kevin Guest house; this includes Blood and Marrow Transplant patients who stay in the four apartments that are next to the main house.
The staff of the Division of Pastoral Care has begun “Dinner with the Pastoral Care Team” Every other month, members of the staff cook a dinner for the guests at the house. The staff then joins the staff for dinner. This ministry offers a supportive venue for patients and family members far from home.
