Biomedical Facilities

RPCI recently occupied a $74 million biomedical research building – that is part of three facilities that will comprise the $142 million Buffalo Life Sciences Complex just north of Buffalo’s downtown business district.

The institutions and their private-sector partners will invest another $150 million in faculty and equipment. In addition to the significant economic development investment represented by this project, the innovative, contemporary design of these buildings is attracting national attention.

Building on the highly productive, decades long collaborative programs with the University at Buffalo and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute, the project represents a major step in the creation of one of the world’s leading centers for biotech research.

The Life Sciences Complex will unite the scientific expertise of three premier institutions with the entrepreneurial expertise of private-sector partners to accelerate the development of new commercial products and processes.
