Phase3
Summary

The current standard treatment for ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancer is a combination of chemotherapy drugs, carboplatin and paclitaxel, given every three weeks.  Recently, investigators have shown that giving paclitaxel every week can increase the length of time without disease; however, there was more anemia (love red blood cell count) associated with this treatment.  The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness and side effects of paclitaxel given every three weeks versus paclitaxel given once a week, when combined with carboplatin.  Both chemotherapy treatments will be given for six cycles.
