Summary The purpose of this study is to examine the particular features of AML cells and certain chromosomes, genes and proteins within these cells.
Eligibility
  • Patients registered onto ongoing and future CALGB treatment protocols for previously untreated AML are eligible and will be consented for this study.

This study will also analyze retrospectively, already procured diagnositic samples from AML patients treated on previous CALGB protocols and who have been registered on the companion Leukemia Tissue Bank protocol CALGB 9665 (and who have sufficient material available - at least 5 cryopreserved vials - and the companion protocol CALGB 8461. Patients providing samples from CALGB 9665 (The CALGB Leukemia Tissue Bank) for CALGB 20202 will not be registered to the study, because they already have provided consent and samples. No additional consent, sample procurement or registration will be required for these patients.
