Cheryl Raczyk, PA

Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Cheryl trained as a PA (D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY) and joined Roswell Park in 2005; she was eager to master the details of human chest, abdominal, and pelvic anatomy as demonstrated by CT and trained assiduously with Roswell Park radiology faculty, to become familiar with a huge variety of CT anatomic and pathologic findings.

Ms. Raczyk developed at such a rate, and to such a high level, that she now studies complex CT exams, forms her own opinion, reviews the case with a specialized Body Imager, and then dictates a report (counter-checked in each case by the Body Imaging Radiologist). This procedure is efficient and cost-effective in our very busy CT section.

Cheryl is also responsible for a variety of other demanding activities: “protocoling” hundreds of CT requisitions each week, quality-checking new and difficult scans, caring for contrast medium reactions, answering technologist’s questions, calling results to clinicians, and even teaching medical students.
