Description of Duties: 

Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) seeks an experienced, board certified anatomic pathologist to direct the Pathology Resource Network (PRN). The PRN is a Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) shared tissue resource with 24 faculty and staff, an annual budget of over $2 million and over 5,000 sq. ft. of laboratory space. The PRN includes sections of general histology/immunohistochemistry, biospecimen procurement and banking, macromolecule processing, molecular pathology including ISH, laser microdissection, TMAs, and image scanning and analysis (Aperio). The Director of the PRN reports to the Chair of Pathology and Associate Director of the Institute.

Qualifications: 

The successful Director candidate must be an experienced, motivated and dynamic individual with at least 2 years of clinical sign out responsibility in general or subspecialty focused surgical pathology and a documented track record in translational research. Extramural funding, while encouraged, is not required. The ideal candidate will have experience in tissue procurement, tissue microarrays, immunohistochemistry, laser microdissection and demonstrate strong skills in informatics. Additional expertise in FISH/ISH, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, aCGH, and sequencing is highly desirable. The PRN Director plays a central role in the design and implementation of translational research at RPCI. Candidates must be AP or AP/CP board certified and will be required to obtain a New York State Medical license.
