Description of Duties:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician will perform simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the Clinical laboratories. Routine laboratory testing will be in the Chemistry and Hematology areas of the Core Laboratory. Routine job functions include:specimen acceptance; accessioning; processing; performance of testing and quality control procedures; and use of various laboratory information systems for result generation, reporting, and documentation.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York; or an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York. NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Cancer Institute as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have previous clinical laboratory experience in Hematology/Chemistry, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.
Hours/Shift:
M-F, 9am-5:30pm
