Mary Reid, PhD, Associate Professor of Oncology and Director of Collaborative Research, shares statistics to help dispel the myth that lung cancer is a man’s disease. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in women, killing more women each year than breast cancer, colon cancer, uterine cancer and ovarian cancer combined. There are additional risk factors for lung cancer, but smoking remains the number one cause of lung cancer in women.
