About The Bottom Line

The Bottom Line

Did you know that colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable types of cancer? Yet, it remains the third-leading cause of cancer death in the United States, claiming more than 50,000 lives each year. In an effort to change this statistic, we have teamed up with WIVB-TV Channel 4 and CW23 WNLO to bring you “The Bottom Line” on colorectal cancer.

Our goal is to raise awareness about the prevention and early detection of the disease and encourage more people to take advantage of life-saving screening procedures. It is our hope that you will:

  • Understand your risk level for colorectal cancer.
  • Follow recommended screening guidelines based on your individual risk factors.
  • Be proactive if you are at higher-than-average risk.
  • Make lifestyle and other changes to help prevent the disease.
  • Seek a second opinion from the experts at a comprehensive cancer center like Roswell Park if you have been diagnosed.
