Mark Titus, PhD, joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute in 2007 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Urologic Oncology. He earned his doctoral degree in Medicinal and Analytical Chemistry with Sidney Nelson, PhD at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, Seattle, WA. His post-graduate training on androgen receptor transactivation was with Frank French, MD in the Laboratories for Reproductive Biology, University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He comes to RPCI from the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
Dr. Titus focuses his research on androgren metabolism and steroid metabonomics in prostate cancer and recurrent disease. Current projects use tandem mass spectrometry, ion trap mass spectrometry and NMR to define intracellular androgen biosynthetic and catabolic pathways to identify targets for androgen deprivation therapy.
Dr. Titus is a member of American Chemical Society, American Urological Association, Society Basic Urologic Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology, and has authored more than 15 publications and abstracts.
