Welcome to the Community Cancer Resource Center
The first step when dealing with cancer is the search for helpful, timely, and accurate information on all aspects of the disease. Physicians and nurses tend to be the greatest sources of information for cancer patients and their families, but sometimes even the most compassionate, knowledgeable health care professional is not always able to answer questions or locate important resources that fall outside their realm of expertise.
This is why the Community Cancer Resource Center (CCRC), temporarily located on the first floor of the Hospital within the cafeteria at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, was created. At the CCRC, trained cancer information specialists teach cancer patients, their families and friends, and the general public how to properly access, correctly interpret and effectively personalize the wealth of information that is available.
Our clearinghouse of cancer information includes:
- A lending library of books, videotapes, audiobooks, DVD's and audio cassettes
- Assistance with using the Internet
- Many other helpful resources
Our Wellness Programs include:
- Yoga & mediation and the "Look Good... Feel Better" program
- A wig, scarf and hat boutique
- Free brochures and gifts
