Care to Cancer Patients
The diagnosis and treatment of cancer disrupts the lives of patients and their loved ones in a variety of ways. Our multidisciplinary team offers support to patients and their families, serving the full range of their spiritual, psychological, emotional, and social needs throughout their care at Roswell.
Clinical Research
In addition to patient care, the Department of Psychosocial Oncology conducts research in Behavioral Medicine and Health Psychology, focusing on helping patients manage their stress and maximize their quality of life.
Education
Each of the Divisions of Psychosocial Oncology is closely connected with the broader Western New York community, conducting conferences and educational programs for the public, and providing opportunities for training of advanced students in the fields of Pastoral Care, Psychology, and Social Work. As a Graduate Division of the State University of New York at Buffalo, staff hold academic appointments in various Departments.
