What's New With the BMT Group?
An original article authored by Linda Leising, Registered Dietitian for the BMT group, and co-authored by Melissa McKernon, Lauren Dunford, Dr. Theresa Hahn and Dr. Philip McCarthy of the RPCI Department of Medicine has been published by the Dietitians in Nutrition Support-Support Line Newsletter. This newsletter is a bi-monthly, peer reviewed publication which is associated with the American Dietetic Association. The topic of this article is “Safety of Water Consumption among Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients”. This article discusses the types of drinking water that HSCT patients may consume, the methods used to treat drinking water, and the overall level of safety to the HSCT patients. It can be found in this month's issue (August 2006, volume 28, no. 4).
