Dr. Annette Sunga joined the faculty of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2004 as a staff physician in the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Sunga earned her medical degree in 1989 from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, and completed residencies in Family Medicine at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Detroit, MI in 1997 and in Preventive Medicine (Cancer Prevention Track), via a joint RPCI Graduate Division and The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB) program in 2004. She is doubly boarded in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. She earned her Masters degree in Public Health at UB in 2004.
Dr. Sunga’s research interests include primary and secondary prevention of colorectal cancer, care of cancer survivors and hereditary colorectal cancer risk management.
Dr. Sunga is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American College of Preventive Medicine, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Sunga has authored or co-authored several journal articles and a book chapter.
