James Smaldino joined the staff at RPCI in 9/2001 as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Head and Neck/Dental Center.
Mr. Smaldino earned his Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1973.
Mr. Smaldino is a licensed by New York State, certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and holds permanent teaching certificates in Elementary Education and Speech and Hearing Handicapped.
Mr. Smaldino’s areas of interest include radiation-induced dysphagia, alaryngeal communication including tracheal esophageal punctures, fiberoptic endoscopy and videostroboscopy procedures, and voice and swallow rehabilitation after supracricoid partial laryngectomy.
Mr. Smaldino is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, New Voice Club of the Niagara Frontier and Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer.
