Remedios B. Penetrante, MD, joined the faculty at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) as a Cancer Research Scientist in 1980 and was named Attending Pathologist in the Department of Pathology in 1981. She also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Penetrante specializes in diagnosis and prognosis of breast, gastrointestinal and genitourinary neoplasms.
Dr. Penetrante earned her medical degree from the Medical School of University of Santo Thomas, Philippines in 1963; completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (1979) at Sisters of Charity Hospital, Buffalo, NY; and a Clinical Fellowship in Anatomic Pathology at the RPCI Graduate Division of the University at Buffalo in 1980.
Dr. Penetrante is licensed in Manila, Philippines and New York. She is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Dr. Penetrante is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and New York State Society of Pathologists.
She has served on numerous committees at RPCI.
Dr. Penetrante has authored or co-authored more than 40 journal articles and abstracts.
