Dr. Mhawech-Fauceglia joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2005, as Staff Physician in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She comes to RPCI from the Geneva University Hospitals in Genève, Switzerland, where she served as a faculty member in the Department of Surgical Pathology.

Dr. Mhawech-Fauceglia earned her medical degree from the Universite de Saint-Joseph, Beirut, Lebanon (1991); Metropolitan Group Hospital at University of Illinois (1995 - Residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology), University of Texas (1997 - Residency in Pathology), and Baylor College of Medicine and MD Anderson Cancer Center (1999 - Fellow in the Department of Hematolymphopathology and Transfusion Medicine).

Dr. Mhawech-Faugelgia has a research interest in gynecologic malignancies, particularly the molecular characterization of endometrial and ovarian tumors.

She has authored or co-authored over 70 publications, book chapter and abstracts.
