Policies: Philosophy of Operations
The philsophy of operations is that all resources of the Pre- Clinical MR Imaging Resource should be made available and used by as many responsible, qualified users as possible with the lowest charges that ensure proper maintenance and updating of the instrumentation. NIH supported projects will have first priority among all CCSG members. Proposals submitted from SUNY at Buffalo researchers and other outside investigators will be considered on an individual basis as to their scientific merit, overall potential and importance to RPCI's mission and future goals.
All proposals submitted for imaging services will be reviewed by the MR Advisory Committee in an unbiased fashion in their entirety. Moreover, the PI on the proposal may be asked to appear before the committee to clarify any issues/questions of the committee and defend his/her request as it pertains to the overall mission of RPCI and CCSG supported resources. The personnel of the 4.7 T MR scanner facility will record not only use, but also requests for use that cannot be accommodated. The MR Advisory Committee will consider this information periodically to determine ways in which resources and operations can be optimized to maximize access by all legitimate users.
