Dr. Asoke K. Mal joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2008, as Assistant Professor of Oncology, Department of Cell Stress Biology.
Dr. Asoke Mal earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta, India in 1992.
Dr. Asoke Mal’s research interest focuses on broad but highly integrated areas of study. The epigenetic gene regulation program involves identifying epigenetic changes and deciphering mechanisms as potential target strategy for therapy. The drug discovery program involves searching small molecules for their therapeutic application. Both programs are aimed at therapeutic applications for muscle-associated tumors and degenerative diseases.
Dr. Asoke Mal is a member of the American Association of Cancer Research and American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. Mal has authored or co-authored more than 8 journal publications
