Cancer Prevention & Population Sciences
Cancer Prevention & Population Sciences plans and conducts research aimed at reducing cancer morbidity and mortality. Investigators with expertise in epidemiology, cancer cause and detection, infection surveillance and cancer surveillance comprise this program.
The Division of Cancer Prevention & Population Sciences at Roswell Park has been configured into a more broadly based scientific program, with leadership and members focusing on the primary goal of identifying means to lessen the risk of cancer through the development of better links between epidemiology, tobacco control, nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, chemoprevention, and molecular biology. The Division encompasses four departments: Health Behavior, Clinical Prevention, Chemoprevention, and Epidemiology.
The Cancer Prevention Program has three major themes: Risk Assessment & Biomarkers, Tobacco Control Research, and Nutrition & Chemical Intervention.
