Web-Based Support Services
- CarePages™ RPCI offers patients the opportunity to create CarePages™ - personalized web pages that allow them to share information with their family and friends. After registering at the CarePages™ website, visitors may leave messages, regardless of time of day or geographic location, providing a "virtual" gathering place for emotional support, patient updates, pictures and messages. Updates, messages and photos posted to CarePages™ are completely private and can only be viewed by invited guests. RPCI's involvement with CarePages™ was funded by the Roswell Park Gift Shop. Anyone can create a page by visiting this link: http://www.carepages.com/roswellpark.
- PatientSite is a secure email program that allows patients to communicate with their care team on medical questions, to refill prescriptions and receive key medical records if needed. Currently being updated to integrate with the new electronic medical record, PatientSite is being used by members of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program, Gastrointestinal (GI) Center, Prostate Cancer Program and Lymphoma Program.
- The Wizards! RPCI houses several computer kiosks that are a source of information for patients and family members regarding cancer. The Wizards are supported by CancerHelp®, a cancer information program for patients and their families. They include up-to-date information in English and Spanish from the National Cancer Institute, about diagnosis, treatment, side effects, supportive care, medications, cancer descriptions and diet & nutrition, and including videos and testimonials. The Wizards have been made available thanks to generous donations from the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation and The Advantage Woodshop.
