• Low grade cancer of the neuroendocrine cells.
• Symptoms may not occur, but may consist of flushing, diarrhea, cardiac problems or wheezing
• Surgery can be curative if lesion is in one localized area
• Can occur in many areas of the body, but the bronchus (airway in the lungs) is the 4th most common site
• Comprises 1-5% of lung cancers.
