The Stacey Scott Registry staff hosted a breakfast for the member institutions on Saturday September 6, 2008 as part of a Lung Cancer Symposium sponsored by RPCI. A great amount of momentum was gained at the meeting.
Stacey's family spoke to the importance of this project and had the opportunity to meet with the investigators. The status of the project along with a demonstration of the new database system and the Jet Propulsion Lab website were presented. The project's next steps and collaboration agreement wording were discussed. The pathologists from each site will now be included in the registry meetings to improve the standardization of the pathologic diagnoses.
Preliminary work has been done regarding the collaboration between the Roswell Park Cancer Institute site and the Jet Propulsion Laboratories (JPL) in California to develop the Biomarker Atlas Project. RPCI will be using JPLs facilities to store imaging data that is gathered for the Registry. The logistics of how this will be done is being finalized with a goal of completion by early 2009.
