Survival Data
These graphs show the overall five-year survival rates for patients treated at Roswell Park in 1998 and 1999, compared to National reported information. In assessing this data, it is critical that the reader understand that these show overall survival and not just survival from colorectal cancer – and patients may have died of causes other than colorectal cancer. As expected, the survival decreases with a more advanced stage of cancer.
As shown here, patients with colon cancer treated at Roswell Park Cancer Institute experience survival benefits stage by stage compared to the National reported data.

The national data for rectal cancer shows the expected decrease in survival with each advancing stage of disease. However, Roswell Park's outcome data reflects superior survival benefits in Stage II and Stage III disease.
