Elizabeth Lenegan, PhD, Director OverviewThe Pastoral Care Division is an inter-faith department supporting the concept of holistic medicine. This concept recognizes the integration of spiritual, emotional, social, psychological and physical care as necessary for the health of the whole person. Working collaboratively with other health care professionals, chaplains provide spiritual care to all persons in the Institute regardless of religious affiliation. Nurture Your Hope, A Patient and Caregiver Retreat will take place Friday, September 12 through Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Chautauqua Institution, Chatauqua, NY. You can also download a PDF brochure here. Location and AvailabilityThe Pastoral Care office is located in room H1406. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am through 5:00 pm. Religious articles and reading materials are also available. For more information contact (716) 845-8051. Worship ServicesThe nondenominational chapel is located on the first floor of the main hospital (room H1403). It is open to patients, family members and staff at all times for meditation and prayer. - Roman Catholic Mass – Monday and Wednesday at noon
- Roman Catholic Communion Service – Tuesday and Thursday at Noon.
- Interfaith Prayer Service – Monday at 1:30 pm. Services for other faiths are coordinated through the Pastoral Care Office.
- Protestant Communion Service – First Sunday of the month at 11 am.
- Holy Days are scheduled as appropriate.
- Bedside services are available on request.
- The chaplains will do all they can to help patients and their familiy members observe religious practices during a hospital stay.
